San Juan Islands Travel Brochure
As a Washington native who grew up visiting the San Juan Islands, I created this accordion-fold travel guide to capture the region’s calm, summer atmosphere while providing visitors with a clear, approachable resource. The guide unfolds into a map that can double as a poster, blending functionality with a personal reflection of the islands’ laid-back character.
Typography & Color
The palette draws from the islands’ natural landscapes and the Washington State Ferry, with a teal-green hue that subtly references the ferry’s iconic aesthetic. I paired Roca’s soft, modern feel with the structured strength of Franklin Gothic to create clear hierarchy and guide the reader. My handwritten map and inclusion of my own images on the panels add a personal, handcrafted element that reinforces both the intimate character of the islands and my own connection to the place.
