Tech Awareness Campaign
Mind Over Media: CTRL The Scroll
This project involved researching the cultural impact of technology and social media using verified statistics, then translating those insights into a visual campaign. The final outcome was a three-poster series featuring key US and international statistics
Mind over media is a campaign designed to raise awareness among Gen Z and Millennials about the negative effects of excessive screen time—particularly doomscrolling—on mental health and well-being.
To communicate this message, we used bold, large-scale statistics paired with striking visuals of an individual being “hypnotized” by their phone, symbolizing how easily users can become consumed by digital content. This imagery is intended to be both eye-catching and relatable, encouraging viewers to recognize their own habits in the graphic.
Since our target audience is already (primarily) addicted to their phones, we incorporated familiar elements, such as notification pop-ups, to immediately capture attention. These are then followed by a call to action that encourages users to step away from their screens and practice mindfulness.

Initial Draft (Individual Work)
Aiming to create an eye-catching poster series, I used LED shades of pink and blue to resemble the bright and enticing screen colors that we’re drawn to, contrasted by black to illustrate that our phones are actually designed to suck us in, showing the dark reality beneath the surface. For the overall design concept, I leaned into hypnotic/optical illusion symbols to further drive home this concept. As we moved towards a concept as a group, we carried over the hypnotic theme, as well as part of the color palette

Promotional Material
Since our campaign centers on mindful activities over mindless ones, our team decided to create promotional materials that reflect this. We landed on bookmarks and a journal, as well as t-shirts, buttons, and stickers, to get more exposure from the general public.
Stationery System
Our stationery system includes a task organization chart, including our team members’ contributions, a letterhead write-up that expands on the process of our campaign and how we arrived at our final solution, a business card, and an envelope
